William Hill poker, established in 1999 is a part of William Hill PLC, a publically traded UK company mostly known for being one of the world's leading bookmakers. The poker room uses CryptoLogic software (Wagerlogic to be precise) and shares cash tables and tournaments with among others Interpoker, the other leading Crypto brand, while the cashier allows players to transfer funds between poker, sports betting and casino games should they so wish to do so.

The poker lobby has a pleasing design to it and navigating is easy, tab your way to either the cash table of your choice or that particular Multi-table tournament you were looking for. While the games are good, tournaments plentiful, William Hill has always had a reputation for slow support, although in general it is not required.

Games & Tournaments

William Hill offers cash games in three different currencies; GBP, USD or EUR and runs from as little as 0.03/0.06 to 100/200 NL, FL games as high as 600/1200! NL traffic is high, games up to 10/20 run practically around the clock and there are always lower stakes Omaha PL tables to be found. Omaha H/L and stud games are scarce. The newly introduced "Pro View" is a welcome addition for every multi-tabler, it allowes 12 cash games to be played at once!

MTTs run 24/7, everything from freerolls to $100 buy-in tourneys. There is a myriad of guaranteed tournaments and satellites/feeders to larger events such as the Carribean Poker Classic which takes place in St. Kitts. STTs, both regular and satellites, can be found in abundance.

Promotions And Support

William Hill has a free of charge, 24 hour poker support number where you'll find a representative to help you. If you prefer email contact, there is a pre-rendered form to fill out. For situations where immediate assistance is needed, I would choose to call them as emails are not always answered in a timely fashion (understatement! - Ed).

The current poker sign-up bonus is $500 for 5,000 MPPs (My Poker Points) (varies month to month - check the William Hill website for current offers). 5,000MPPs equates to 5,000 hands where the rake reaches 1 full unit (0,25 MPPs is awarded for hands raked 0,25-0,99 units) which makes this a decent bonus at best for the average player. However, if you are a winning player at the 2/4 FL or 1/2 NL tables, 5,000 raked hands can be achieved in a matter of days and should be a welcome addition to your bankroll.

The monthly 25 bonus is a decent proposition. Every month William Hill pays you 25 for just 5 hours of play. To qualify for this, all you need to do is play the 0,50/$1 PL, NL tables or the FL tables and you will be awarded with 5 for every completed hour of play to a maximum of 25. If there is money available in your account, there no need to deposit. This bonus alone makes William Hill one of two Cryptologic poker rooms worth joining.

Banking

Funding your account can be done by any of the following: Credit Card, UK Debit Card, Bank Wire, Neteller, Postal Orders, Quick Cash, or Cheque. William Hill Poker also uses Ecash Direct (www.ecashdirect.net) for faster and smoother transactions. Withdrawals are instant to Neteller and Quick Cash (see help section on home page for complete info), withdrawals to Credit Cards and by Bank Wire takes 2-5 working days, this is around average for the industry.

Conclusion

To summarise, William Hill is a decent enough poker room with the monthly 25 bonus and instant Neteller withdrawals as its fortes. If you, like me, like to play online poker, casino as well as bet on sports there is probably no better institution than William Hill for the combined experience, however the poker room isn't as strong in many areas as other Cryptologic network sites like Interpoker (Interpoker review) or even Parbet (Parbet Poker review). Alongside Interpoker, this is where I play and still feel good soing so, even after 5 years and 50,000+ hands, when it comes to Cryptologic poker sites.
