Paradise poker was established in 1999 and was one of the first poker rooms to open it's doors for the public. Not long ago, Paradise Poker was purchased by Sportingbet PLC forming one of the world's biggest online gaming portals. Paradise Poker is a Boss Media skin and uses Boss software which is well-liked by many and is considered to be stable, easy to use poker software. The poker lobby looks really nice with is sharp graphics and easy navigation. The casino, sportsbook and blackjack sections are all easily accessible which is good in my opinion.

Games & Tournaments

Paradise offers games in three different currencies, USD, GBP & EUR. NL/PL games run from 0.05/0.10 up to 50/100 NLHE, 200/400 LHE and 25/50 Omaha. 5 card drawfrom 0.25/0.50 to 3/6. NLHE tables up to 5/10 are plentiful, lots and lots of active tables any time of day. Trafiic is generally high with 3-6000 players around the clock. Players are generally skilled so competition is fierce. Not many fishes around.

A good selection of Multi-table poker tournaments are available , almost all in the $1-$20 range. Occassional higher buy-in tournaments do run, most of them with guaranteed prize pools. You will also find a few daily freeroll tournaments with prize pools of $100 and $250. Single-table tournaments from $3-$10000 although tables above $100 rarely run.

Promotions And Support

Paradise Poker's signup bonus is 100% up to $100. The bonus is released in increments of $5 for every 100 Frequent Player Points (FPPs) earned. $0.25 contributed rake is worth 1 FPP. Do the math yourselves and see that this is probably the worst signup bonus out there. Reloads are quite frequent but unfortunately often with the same rancid requirements.

Support however is excellent. There is an email option where you fill out a simple form with your query and have support get back to you, either by email or phone. Live chat is available most of the time and support phone numbers for almost every country worldwide are listed. Whether you give them a ring or go to live help you'll find that staff are generally very helpful and nice.

For deposits, use Neteller, Credit Card(VISA, Mastercard, Delta), Click2Pay, Instacash, Moneybookers, Debit Card or Bank wire. Cashout speed is average for the online poker industry, 24 hours'ish to Neteller and 3-5 days to VISA or via Bank wire.

Paradise Poker software looks good and runs smoothly on almost any computer. Traffic is high but slow cashouts and a stinky welcome bonus knocks the overall rating down a peg or two. It's still a pretty good place to play online poker though.
