Source: http://www.bluffed.netAgainst some formidable opposition, Las Vegas pro wins $269,037 Las Vegas poker pro Adam Friedman (30) defeated a final table loaded with top players at the weekend to take down the World Series of Poker event 15 - the $5,000 buy-in Seven-Card Stud Hi/Low Split 8/OB. His final table opponents included Todd Brunson, John Monette, Bryn Kenney, Phil Ivey and Nikolai Yakovenko, along with Sven Arntzen and Zimnan Ziyard, all survivors of a 212 player entry field that generated a prize pool of $996,400. For Brunson, Kenney and Monette this was their second final table at this year's WSOP, whilst the registration list for the event included high profile names like Phil Hellmuth, Marco Johnson, Eli Elezra, Bryan Devonshire and Allen Bari. The heads up came down to Todd Brunson vs. Adam Friedman, with the former starting out in the chip lead. It looked to be Brunson's day as he rapidly extended his lead, holding treble the amount of chips of his opponent, but Friedman won several showdowns to overtake him, and after three and a half hours of heads up action the win, along with his first bracelet and $269,037, went to Friedman. Brunson collected a $166,269 runner-up check. Poker News index » NEVADA GOVERNOR IN INTERSTATE TALKS ON INTERNET POKER17th May, 2013 at 16:56:59
