Organisers release list of 12 more entrants

The million-dollar buy-in 'mother of all poker events', Big One for One Drop now has 42 entrants and is nearing the cut-off for entries, currently pegged at 48 players.

The event, which will be staged between July 1 and 3 at the Rio in Las Vegas, has attracted the world's biggest players and will generate funds for water projects in impoverished third world communities (see previous reports).

The World Series of Poker organisers of the event released the latest entries Thursday, a list that includes some of the most visible names in the game, such as UK ace Sam Trickett, French star Jason Mercier, Eugene Katchlov, David Peat, Vivek Rakjumar, Andrew Robl, Nick Schulman and Noah Schwartz.

The prize pool for the event will exceed $35 million, making for an 8-figure payday for the winner that is likely to be a new record for poker.

Two likely additions to the list in the near future, according to their tweeted intentions, are WSOP legend Ben Lamb and French ace Jean-Robert Bellande.
