Source: http://www.bluffed.netEntries not surprisingly down on 2010 totals Pokerstars has released the full statistics on its recently completed World Championship of Online Poker, showcasing still impressive numbers despite declines compared with the event's last outing. Given the economic and US legal turmoil that has impacted the industry since then, some decline was perhaps inevitable. Some 119,832 entries were recorded across the 62 events on the WCOOP schedule, a decline from the 141,126 entrants in 2010. Those who entered generated a total prize pool for the championship of $47,120,800 over the three weeks of the event. Digging down into the prize pool, $7,789,589 went into first place prizes, leaving generous amounts for other cashes. Winner's bracelets went to a diversity of countries, showcasing the spread of interest in Pokerstars action. Russians won the most at 10, with British players next on 8; those from the Netherlands claimed 7 and the Canadians scored 6. Polish players took home 4 winners' bracelets, Danes and Norwegians 3 each, and the bottom of the Australians, Brazilians, Finns and Swedes claimed two bracelets for each nation. Other countries with one bracelet apiece included Austria, Belgium Colombia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Greece, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, Romania, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates.
