Selin reveals intention to replace poker software before end 2011

Bodog Europe chief executive Patrik Selin made an interesting disclosure on the company's online poker software this week, telling the publication InsidePoker Business that there are plans to launch a completely new version of its poker software at the end of 2011.

"We will hopefully have completely new software up in November," Selin revealed.

Bodog currently runs on proprietary software it has developed over a number of years after acquiring it from software firm Micropower.

"We think it [the new software] is going to be top three in the industry from a software perspective and depending on what happens it may even be top two," Selin added.

Bodog's poker network is currently one of the few major networks still open to US players, and sits at 13th in the Pokerscout rankings.

Selin admitted that so far there has been only limited European promotion for the network, explaining: "If you are going to do a lot of marketing you need to have good software or you are just training up players for one of the bigger sites, so until now we have kept a lower profile. After we get [the new software] up in November it's going to be a really big step forward and then you are going to see much more poker marketing from us."
